Prerequisites for Children’s Yoga Teacher Registration
To register as a Children’s Yoga Teacher with YAI, candidates must complete 60 hours of specialized training, covering:

  • Understanding childhood developmental stages from ages 2-16
  • Teaching yoga, meditation, and relaxation techniques to kids
  • Age-appropriate poses, games, partner yoga, and breathing exercises

    • 2. Techniques Training & Practice (20 Hours)
  • Breathing techniques to calm, energize, and balance the nervous system
  • Yoga-based practices tailored to child development and age
  • Asanas, movement exercises, meditation, and relaxation techniques

    • 3. Teaching Methodology (10 Hours)
  • Classroom techniques for engaging and effective yoga instruction
  • Lesson planning, sequencing, and creative teaching methods
  • Incorporating art, music, and books into yoga classes
  • Making yoga philosophy accessible to teens

    • 4. Anatomy & Physiology (8 Hours)
  • Understanding child development and physiological changes
  • Application of yoga techniques for children aged 2-16
  • Study of anatomy, benefits, contraindications, and correct movements

    • 5. Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle & Ethics (12 Hours)
  • Teaching yoga principles (Yamas, Niyamas, non-violence, and karma yoga)
  • Health and safety guidelines for teaching children
  • Ethical behavior when working with children, parents, and guardians
